Some of you know that, today, a year ago we've lost one of our own. Yeah, I'm talking about the lovable goofball, Horizon's XO Alex. A year ago today, a lot of people lost not only a CO, an XO, an FECO, and a fellow player and a damn good writer, but people have also lost a friend, a son, a father, a brother, a kindred soul and even a lover. Someone who was, and still is loved and missed very much every single day. The past year's been hard, on all those who knew him and all those whose souls he's touched one way or another. But we keep on keeping on. We gotta.
I know the Horizon has slown down in posting and some people have dropped out over the last year due to how all this has affected me and my inability to fight it back eventually. And I take full responsibility for letting it happen. But the hard times have also shown me, shown us, that we can stick together and we can fight it and prevail in the end.
Huge thanks to all the crew who stuck around. Extra huge thanks to Albert for stepping in and filling in two sets of shoes, both Alex's and for a while my own; I'm sure he managed to fit into my shoes quite well too. ;). Albert, you're a natural at the whole gaming and writing and playing thing! Without his help, and yours folks, Horizon wouldn't be around today. Thanks to all for keeping 'er going! Thank You all for sticking around.
Yeah, we're not doing too great now, but people are posting and things are going; by our posting stats, we're not doing too badly actually, which is good; the bad thing is there's a lot less JPs now... things'll pick up after this mission. Hopefully. With your help and input, things will pick up; we'll get more crew, get cracking on more JPs, do more fun stuff.bring back the goofballs and the oddballs that made the horizon so famous. and best of all, have fun doing it all! Just like we used to.
The Horizon's been around for almost three years now, I have no intention of giving her up. Period. Anyone who says or thinks otherwise, have another thing coming their way. The Horizon *will* keep going, and so will I.
