The trio beamed into the darkened area. All three quickly scouted the area weapons at the ready; but all they came across here were dead bodies. Mark signaled Jeral and Janzie gesturing at the nearest doorway. Based on the damage done in the cargo hold, there was no question they had to proceed with extreme caution.
Holding the rifle aimed up ahead in steady hands, Mark welcomed the feeling of being in a situation that posed some danger as the three move out of the cargo hold.
OFF:
Tag Jeral and Janzie. let's get to the bridge and kick some ass. not specifically in that order... hehe

“Nice of them to save us some of the fun,” Janzie jokingly muttered, though mostly to herself. She paused for a moment when she realized how odd that sounded to her own ears. There had once been a time when ‘to do no harm’ was nearly her personal motto and now she was disappointed that she hadn’t been thrust into action right out of the transport. The last thing she wanted was to have counseling added to the hoops she’d was bound to have to jump through to be in uniform again.
Janzie stopped at a computer console to get a better idea of what they were up against, her fingers pausing only briefly as she recalled her familiarity with Nausicaan systems. “They’ve been damaged more than they were letting on,” she commented to the others. It was stating the obvious to some degree given the condition of the cargo bay they were currently in, but the rest of the ship wasn’t in much better shape and that was good information to know. “They’re not giving up,” she said to indicate repairs to key systems were underway, “but lots of systems are in disrepair, including extensive damage and a hull breach on the bridge. It’s sealed…for now.”

"No kiddin'" Mark spoke, feigning surprise at the statement of the obvious. Just as quick, his light hearted attitude disappeared and he was all business again. "Let's get to the bridge" he spoke, "without attracting too much attention" he added. "Janzie, what's the quickest way to the bridge, given the conditions of the ship as it is?" he asked, well aware that the shots fired by the Horizon had caused some extensive damage not just to the bridge.

“The main corridors are still intact and unobstructed for the most part, though because of that they are getting a bit of foot traffic as a result,” she answered. “The main lift to the bridge is mostly functional, though stops a deck, no two decks below there due to some of the damage on the bridge and near by area. Taking an access way the last bit will be tricky, but doable.”
Just then the ship rocked slightly, and after quick glances exchanged Janzie investigated. “Internal explosion, sensors are starting to have more issues than they were already so I can’t tell if it was caused by us directly or a delayed reaction. Either way it knocked their weapons offline. We better get moving or there won’t be anything left for us to take off line.” The chances of that being the case were minimal, but the longer they waited the harder their job did become, because it was likely the Nausicaans were working double time to get their systems back up.

Mark nodded, and in a swift motion, his weapon raised the Admiral took point as he led the way out of the cargo hold. Coming across many bodies, they got to the lift without an incident, it seemed that the majority of the life signs were situated near by the bridge, which would make it getting to the bridge a little bit trickier.
Once they were two decks below the bridge, the away team noticed movement in the flickering lights of the ship's interior. Mark counted eight pirates, most rushing about busy with repairs.
"Take 'em out. Quietly" Mark signaled Jeral and Janzie before slipping into the shadows himself heading for the nearest pirate careful to stay out of sight of the enemy.

Jeral just nodded, then used hand signals to bring Janzie along with him. He had wished he had brought along photon grenades, but he didn't think they were needed. They circled around quietly, trying not to make as much noise, until they were almost directly behind one of the crews. Jeral just brought the butt of his rifle up in both hands and hit him over the head, the buttstock impacting against the Nausegaan's skull.
He fell with a clatter that sounded like a hull plate falling to the ground.
Jeral breathed easier and whispered, "One down... several uglies to go."

Janzie has moved equally quietly to a Nausicaan nearby to Jeral’s. With the soft clatter caused by his fallen crewmate, his head turned, which only served to give Janzie better access. In a swift move she wrapped her arm around his neck and pulled it tightly against his windpipe with the other. Despite his larger size and defiantly stronger strength, Janzie had positioned herself so that he would have had a tough time dislodging her if he had even thought that far ahead. Though it took some time, the Nausicaan’s legs eventually buckled as he passed out. He was then positioned out of site of the others. An accidental sighting could make their job slightly more complicated.
After motioning to Jeral who her next intended targets were, she moved out. Before too long, two more Nausicaans had been rendered unconscious, either by asphyxiation or using the rifle butt as Jeral had used earlier. She looked up to assess the away team’s current objective and to possibly gain sight of the Admiral. This was her first exposure to him in action and she was curious.

Mark snuck up on one of the remaining pirates who was kneeling by a wall attempting to fix something; the human Admiral tapped the pirate on the shoulder. Timing his actions, Mark's fist met with the face of the pirate just as he turned around to look. quickly, whilst the pirate was momentarily stunned from the punch, Mark finished the job with the rifle. Ensuring the pirate was out cold, Mark moved on ahead; the bridge was not too far away.

They circled around quietly, trying not to make as much noise, until they were almost directly behind one of the crews. Jeral just brought the butt of his rifle up in both hands and hit him over the head, the buttstock impacting against the Nausicaans’ skull.
Jeral looked down at the third body he had dispatched, then looked around.
He couldn't see the Admiral. "Hm," he said to himself, then picked up his tricorder out of his belt and began a bio-scan.
He turned it on... and realized that there was a Nausegaan sneaking up behind him, three meters away. He dodged left, and the knife that the alien was holding just missed his skull by a few inches. Bringing his leg down and out, Jeral caught the big Nausegaan with a leg sweep, bringing him down to the deck with a loud crash, and then brought his rifle to bear and shot him in the chest.
An alarm went off right then. "I think they know we're here now!" Jeral called out, scanning for other lifesigns. About ten Nausegaans, coming from the upper deck down... and he finally found the Admiral, on the other side of the Nausegaans bearing down on his position. "Screw this," he said, grabbing Janzie by the arm and running for a room. Jeral hit the door controls, and the door slid shut. With a quick reprogram of his phaser rifle's settings, he aimed and shot the crease of the door, sealing it permanently.
"According to my scans, there's a service crawlway at the back of this room, we can get to the command deck from there," Jeral said. He motioned that way. "Ladies first."
